Hello Chaffinches!
Welcome to term 2. This is my favourite term. I love everything about autumn; the change in the weather, boots, hats and scarves, hot chocolate, fireworks… and of course as we transition into winter…. CHRISTMAS! We are handing the baton of the Nativity over to Robins class this year. We will be putting on our own production during the spring term.
Our theme this term is ‘Why does the earth shake?’ It is a geography topic where we will learn about extreme weather and its effects on our planet. Please take a look at our theme table to find out more about what we will be up to.
Our PE days will remain the same as Term 1. Mondays will be gymnastics and Wednesdays will be outdoor games with Mr Herring. Do remember to bring your hoodie to keep warm during these sessions. Swimming will also continue on Tuesday mornings.
Spelling tests will continue to take place on Friday mornings; you are all doing amazingly well in these tests. Keep up the fantastic work. Homework will continue to be given out at the start of term and due in at the end. You are such a fantastic class for reading at home. This will help you so much in many areas of the curriculum, particularly spelling.
I would like to say a huge thank you to Mrs Cummine for being such a super class representative. We have had lots of parent helpers volunteer so far this year thanks to Mrs Cummine’s super organisation and communication. Thank you to all parents who volunteer their time to help us at swimming, Forest School and hearing readers.
As always, please email
See you soon,
Mrs Reynolds
