Head Teacher's Welcome
Urchfont C of E Primary School is situated at the western edge of the village on the road to Potterne Wick. The current school was built in 1975 although there has been a school in Urchfont since the 1890s.

Through our vision, we strive for excellence in all we do, workign together as a happy community where children develop a life-long love of learning. Each child is valued and encouraged and staff work in partnership with parents, offering a welcoming, safe, nurturing and inspiring environment to all.

Our school has a happy family atmosphere where children and staff enjoy working together. We currently have 86 pupils on roll divided into 4 mixed aged classes. The majority of our pupils come from the village but a signicant number of our children live in the surrounding district. The school is extremely lucky to be set within its own attractive grounds with a playground, sports field and a reflective garden. We are also within easy walking distance of the Oakfrith woods, the local church and village; all providing exciting opportunities for stimulating, active learning.

We believe that education should be fun and try to provide as many first – hand experiences for our children. Visits out of school are encouraged to enhance and extend the work in school and there are opportunities for all children to attend residential visits. Extracurricular activities are organised by the Staff and other professionals and these vary according to the season.

We are proud to be a school where our aim is for all our children flourish and fulfill their potential and develop a strong moral compass that they can carry into adulthood.
